I really like this game, really felt like a ww2 sniper, taking his time to put the target on sights, I love how you managed to fit it all into a postcard and keep it simple.
Although I feel it's a bit more luck based than I personally like, and I was thinking a roll and allocate mechanic for shot difficulty, shot position, and shot range might be better suited, at least for my taste. I was thinking about adding more disadvantages and advantages for each range, position, and difficulty. I'll try it out later and see what I come up with.
But yeah, good game, this one's actually worth printing!
Nice topic! Land mine in 2nd round lol. I feel the Events are dramatic than I expect, IMO if the sudden death events (4 and 9) reroll after a sniper try to escape will be better.
Not sure what's event 7 means, add another round of 1d6 for Sniping Position?
Nice idea for the sudden death events, you can definitely house rule that one if your prefer. But what i tried to do here is keep the game hard to survive with a 20% chance of getting a sudden death event from (4 and 9) plus another 10% depending on the roll for event 11.
If you're an American you have the Endurance skill that can help you once per mission...
Event 7 works the same way as the Sniping position table but without the rolling. It's like getting a free ticket. If you roll it, make a note of it, when you target an enemy you may cash it. You automatically improve on your next sniping position roll. Let's say you rolled a Good position, you may cash it to automatically take a Great position. This is not cumulative, only works once per mission. Reroll if you already rolled this event during this mission.
